A High Performance Corrosion Inhibiting Compound for Aerospace Applications

Curing Ox-Block® COB-01 is a general purpose aerospace sealant designed for aircraft structures and hardware where a hardening corrosion inhibiting compound is required. Once applied, Curing Ox-Block cures to form a durable environmental barrier that seals out moisture and contaminants while providing enhanced corrosion protection in harsh operating environments.

At the core of Curing Ox-Block is a synergistic corrosion inhibitor system combined with special passivated sacrificial particles that oxidize preferentially before the aircraft structure. This mechanism helps protect underlying materials from corrosion while extending maintenance intervals and reducing the need for frequent reapplication.

Curing Ox-Block is intended for use in areas such as wheel wells, flap wells, external hardware, tie rods, external mounts, pylons, and other exposed aircraft components where additional corrosion prevention is desirable. It is also suitable for cracks, gaps, seams, pinholes, small voids, dissimilar metal joints, faying surfaces, and fasteners where removability may be required during future maintenance.

Designed for Durability Safety and Ease of Use

Curing Ox-Block COB-01 is a non chromate, solvent free, non shrinking material that is environmentally safe and non hazardous. The compound is hydrophobic and contains greater than 99 percent non volatile content, helping it resist washout and environmental exposure once cured. These characteristics make it suitable for aircraft operating in coastal high humidity and salt exposed environments.

The material has a putty or paste like consistency that allows it to be applied easily using common tools such as brushes spatulas or smoothing tools. It is designed to be easy to apply use and remove when maintenance access is required.

Controlled Cure for Maintenance Efficiency

Curing Ox-Block features a controlled working life that allows adequate time for application followed by a cure that supports efficient maintenance operations. Under standard conditions the material cures within hours forming a hardened protective layer that remains stable across a wide operating temperature range.

By combining corrosion inhibition environmental sealing and a curing formulation Curing Ox-Block COB-01 provides a practical solution for protecting critical aircraft hardware and structures while supporting long term durability and maintainability.
